Restaurant/places to eat in TSUGU Kyoto Sanjo by THE SHARE HOTELS
Property building in TSUGU Kyoto Sanjo by THE SHARE HOTELS
This place is modern and minimalist. The hotel is cutting down on plastic so there's a community kitchen on the 4th floor where you can fill up with filtered cold water, there's also a refrigerator/freezer, water heater, microwave, toaster and stovetop for food storage/prep. There's a huge table and chairs to sit and eat and a reading area to relax or chat with other guests. Guests during the week seemed mainly foreigners with more japanese on the weekend. The bathroom doesn't have a lot of space to put vanity items, but the toilet is nice with heated water for the bidet and the shower/furo (bathtub) was japanese style, spacious and relaxing after a day walking around. There wasn't a lot of room to move around the beds or lay out suitcases, but the beds were comfy and the walls were concrete which made it very quiet, and the window shutters did a great job of keeping the room dark. Hotel staff varied but overall very friendly and helpful answering questions and ordering a taxi for us (our hotel in Tokyo said they would charge us extra if they ordered a taxi). It's a short walk from public transportation and from a lot of shopping and places to eat, but it's not on a main road.

It was my first time staying at this hotel, and my initial impression was simply that it looked exactly like the photos on Booking.com. The hotel is beautiful, perfect for those who love taking photos or creating content. However, it wasn’t just the appearance that impressed me, the staff made the experience even more delightful. The service was excellent, the room was spacious and very clean. The hotel also has a café and evening bar, along with a common area on the 4th floor where you can cook or bake treats. Right next to the hotel, there’s an Aesop store and other branded shops, so you can enjoy a walk down the hotel’s street as well. If I visit Kyoto again, I’ll definitely stay here once more, I’d love to try staying in a room with tatami mats next time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tsugu Kyoto Sanjoy by THE SHARE HOTELS in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. The location was perfect, very easy walk to Nishiki Markets and the Teramachi Shopping Arcades, as well as plenty of restaurants, bars, and bakeries. The room was large enough for 3 adults, and the bathroom was excellent, very spacious. The staff were exceptional, very helpful, and the hotel was spotlessly clean. The share kitchen was a real bonus, particularly if you had food you need to heat up etc. We required additional pillows, and it was no trouble for the staff to accommodate this. The hotel is also a very easy walk to subway stations and other main shopping areas.

TSUGU is an incredibly modern & clean hotel centrally located in Kyoto, walking distance to Nishiki Market, Gion & Higashiyama Districts as well as Pontocho, surrounded by lots of boutiques & restaurants while having a local neighbourhood feel. We love the futuristic minimalist design aesthetic of the hotel’s rooms & facilities which is well thought out. The hotel also provides generous amenities and there’s a spacious kitchen, living space on the 4th floor, which was great to have and almost felt like having a private kitchen to ourselves. The staff were also super friendly & helpful. It’s also really good value for money, given the location as well.

Lovely hotel, has a great industrial artsy vibe. The location is superb, you can walk everywhere and it's quiet. We slept in the Japanese style family room, it was spacious enough for us and a really unique experience. Breakfast was so tasty, we got a salad plate plus could choose from a different dish everyday. It felt like having breakfast at a trendy cafe. Also loved having the convenient shared kitchen, made it easy as a family with small kids to have dinner there sometimes, also the washing machines were handy. I appreciate the eco friendly options for cleaning the room, for example only changing the garbage vs. cleaning the whole room.
